ECJ caps off AMS with fourth-place finish at Selinsgrove Speedway
For the fourth round of the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek, Matt Cosner and Eddie Carrier Jr. invaded Path Valley Speedway (Spring Run, Pa.) on Tuesday to compete for the $4,000-to-win A-Main.
Amongst a field of 43 cars, Cosner’s third-fastest qualifying lap in his group locked his spot into the show while Eddie raced to a heat race win. Both drivers were slated to start in the top-10 but the event was washed out by Mother Nature.
On Thursday afternoon at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.), Carrier again started the night off with a heat win while Matt finished second. Both drivers finished in the top-10 with Eddie placing eighth and Cosner trailing him in ninth.
With the second round of Bedford’s AMS event rained out on Friday, Matt qualified for Saturday’s $4,000-to-win feature at Lincoln Speedway (Lincoln, Pa.) via his third-fastest qualifying effort in his group. He went onto place sixth in the main event while Eddie Carrier Jr. crossed the line in 13th.
Wrapping up the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek on Sunday at Selinsgrove Speedway (Selingrove, Pa.), Eddie picked up a heat race win to start off the night while Matt won his B-Main after a folded nose in time trials prevented him recording a lap. With $6,300 on the line in the Paul Long Memorial A-Main, Cosner retired on lap nine while Carrier passed six cars to finish fourth, his best finish of the miniseries.
Matt finished seventh and Eddie sixth in the final Appalachian Mountain Speedweek point standings.
